On Thursday, Meenakshi Lekhi, the popular face of BJP and Minister of State for External Affairs and Culture, lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s new cabinet 2.0, saying that India was not only on the map but also with ministers and women were given big responsibilities by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and party chief JP Nadda. Expressing gratitude to the Supreme Court lawyer and social activist, he said: “People used to talk about women’s empowerment but Prime Minister Modi made it possible for the country to be run by empowered women.

As a Member of Parliament, Lekhi was part of the drafting committee for important bills, including the Women’s Protection Bill and the Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Bill.



He has also served on various parliamentary panels, including the Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs, the Benefits Committee, and the General Purpose Committee. The author’s husband is Aman Lekhi, who is also a lawyer in the Supreme Court of India and the Additional Solicitor General of India. He studied at St. Xavier’s School, Delhi. They both have two children.
