Xiaomi India Records Strong Growth in the Premium Smartphone
Xiaomi India has announced that it has recorded strong and fast growth in the country’s premium smartphone segment. Citing Counterpoint’s May 2021 tracker, the company reportedly captured a 14 percent market share in the 20K-45K segment. Xiaomi claims that this is its latest premium smartphone portfolio which has grown in the mid-budget segment of the Mi10i, Mi 11X 5G, and Mi 11X Pro 5G. In the space of a few months, its market share has risen from 3 percent in October 2020 to 14 percent in May 2021, the agency notes. Commenting on the development, Xiaomi India Managing Director Manu Kumar Jain said that its MI 10 and MI 11 series empower its users.
While these are initially growth numbers, we are overwhelmed to see customers upgrading to premium devices under Mr. Portfolio as we continue to grow in the market, we will look to bring more powerful devices and work towards making Mi a premium aspiring brand in India,” a press release said.
